From the New Jack Swing Era to The Sunday Cruise, pioneer Kenyan deejays; DJ Pinye, Adrian and Nijo have their page in Kenya’s entertainment industry history.

They are the three veteran deejays who have entertained Kenyans for over two decades and stood the test of time as the ‘illest’ spin-masters of our days who turned the once uncelebrated art into a reputable profession.

And even after Pinye announced he had retired from showbiz in 2016, early this year, he resurfaced to celebrated his 50th birthday, a star-studded bash held at Sarova Panafric that saw him get showered with many gifts and love from his friends.

In attendance were celebrated stars back in the day including DJ Nijo, Styles, Point Black, Jua Cali and Nonini among others.

And when we thought it was all over, once more, Pinye is making one more spin on next week, July 10, during a show dubbed Triple Jam. The throwback gig that will feature him alongside Adrian and Nijo will be held at The Clique Lounge, Ngong Road, Nairobi.

“This will be an exclusive show that promises to be one of a kind. Am not sure you are ready for this,” Nijo said as he confirmed that the gig is set to bring the nostalgia feeling of the 80s and 90s entertainment – golden -  days.

In a video, Pinye is seen posing on a sofa between two beauties as he jams to 50 Cent’s ‘In Da Club’ mega-hit as he teases that he can’t wait for the big day as Adrian tosses a glass, tapping some fine whiskey.

The last time Pinye and Nijo shared the decks was during Pinye’s birthday – earlier in the year.

During a previous interview, the two pacesetters narrated how the deejaying business was different back in the day.

“I don’t make noise about my art. I let art speak for what I do…,” said Nijo.

“When I started, it was like an adventure. People didn’t know back then that you could make money from deejaying but the more I did it I realised I can make money from it,” said Pinye.
