When planning your daily, weekly, or monthly expenditure, it is always important to consider several factors.

The major factors include your budget, where and when to do shopping and convenience.

Online shopping has, over the recent past, taken a new shape to dictate how Kenyans and people worldwide do their shopping.

To choose which website to use for shopping in Kenya, you will have to consider variables like Convenience, Pricing, variety, and even online security.

According to google play store ratings, five of the most trusted online shopping websites in Kenya include Jumia, Killmall, Masoko, Shopit, and Jiji- formally OLX

Jumia

This is an online platform operating through the address www.jumia.co.ke with a rating of 4.4/5.0.

One of their customers, Cornel Sifa, described the platform to be well defined and easy to find products

“It’s such a nice app with a well-laid user interface, and the categories are clearly defined, which increases efficiency and overall user experience. Loved it a lot” Sifa said

Jiji

This is an online platform operating through the address www.jiji.co.ke with a rating of 4.6/5.0.

This particular site helps you buy and sell second-hand items online through their website.

“Very good and interesting and more so a helpful app. It’s good for doing online business. No ads on hanging and fast to access” Stated John Wanjiru, a customer.

Some customers, however, complained that it is difficult to distinguish between a genuine seller and a conman on this website.

These sites have tried their best to curb complaints that have, over time, been raised by online buyers.

These complaints range from delivery problems, misuse of time trying to find specific products, lack of sales assistance, and risk of fraud.

Others operate in the same field within the country, and they include Shopit (www.shopit.co.ke), which deals with household items and Masoko(www.masoko.co.ke) owned by mobile operator Safaricom and majorly deals with mobile phones.

There also exist other online channels in which people use to buy and sell goods like WhatsApp groups, which are created solely for business, where members can sell and buy products.

These channels are mostly preferred to the traditional method of walking into supermarkets and shops since it saves shoppers the effort.
