Another fisherman has drowned in Lake Naivasha. This brings to five the number of people killed by hippos or who have drowned in the lake this year.
The man was in the company of others fleeing from a hippo near Karagita landing beach.
"The wild animals and residents have been scrambling for the few access routes," said Lake Naivasha Boat Owners’ Association Chairperson David Kilo.
While fleeing, the fisherman fell in a trench used by flower farms. "He did not know how to swim and those near him could not help him. He drowned," said Kilo.
Meanwhile, one person was hit by a matatu while crossing the road at Kayole on Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
