An MP yesterday shot himself in the foot when he unwittingly confessed before National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi that he had just walked out of a parliamentary committee sitting at which he appeared for the sole purpose of registering his presence.
The lawmaker arrived late for the committee session chaired by the Speaker and explained that he had gone to sign in with another committee of which he is a member.
The Speaker was visibly surprised by the remarks made against the backdrop of his warning to Mps about making technical appearances at House committee sessions.
