Forget the obsession with IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba. Smitten women are now drooling over Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip.

The 28-year-old Jubilee senator was on the lips of every woman on social media, with some brazen ones offering themselves to have his baby.

And when the newly-elected senator recently appeared on KTN’s Friday Briefing, the fisilets were not ashamed of digging into his marital status, with some directly begging for his hand in marriage.

But most will get their hearts broken to learn that the politician who was a banker, is dating sexy cop Sophie Mohamed, an Administration Police officer attached to a local bank along Thika Superhighway in Nairobi.

Anwar told The Nairobian that he has been living with Sophie as husband and wife and they’re blessed with a beautiful daughter.

“It’s too late for those who have been drooling over me. I am taken and have been dating Sophie for three years now.

She is all I wanted in a woman, in fact, I cannot choose another woman over her. I know that being a public figure has its challenges like dealing with stalkers, but they can try another senator since I am not in the market” Said Anwar who is of Maasai and Swahili extraction.

The lover of ugali and nyama choma and a big supporter of Arsenal, grew up at the Coast and has been at the helm of Jubilee leadership when it was The National Alliance (TNA) in Lamu since 2013.

During this year’s elections, Anwar trounced the oldest politician at the Coast, 70-year-old Abu Chiaba during nominations, before clinching the Senate seat in the August 8 General Election.

The graduate of Kampala International University campaigned on his mother’s ambulance, motorbike and later a Probox.

But being married to a cop did not prevent him from tasting the insides of a cold cell. “I respect police officers, though I’ve been arrested once over a minor issue like not carrying a driver’s licence,” he said.

Sophie describes Anwar as understating and a man of his words who is more than husband to her.

“He is a humble man who never boasts about anything,” she said, adding that, “We both love adventure and exposing each other to new things in life. That’s is why he is my best friend and soulmate”.

Sophia was born and raised in Mombasa. It is here that she decided to become a cop. But that did not come on a silver platter as she tried to join Kenya Defence Forces in 2007 and failed, before opting for Administration Police recruitment in 2008.

She told The Nairobian in an earlier interview that everything about her is natural.

Some of the funny pickup lines that men who never knew she was married include, “Naomba unishike... nifanye makosa gani unishike?! (Please arrest me...what crime can I commit to get arrested by you?!)”
