It’s not every day that you see a wedding gown at a funeral, but for the members of Jerusalem Church, this happens to be requirement for widows burying their husbands.

In a one of a kind burial ceremony held at Luanda Village, Vihiga County, a widow who had lost her husband was draped in her wedding gown at the ceremony conducted by Prophetess Mary Akatsa, the founder of Jerusalem Church of Christ.

In a report by KTN’s Lofti Matambo, the last journey for the deceased included a funeral procession around the whole town that covered 20 kilometers in 2 days. According to the prophetess, the long journey was necessary because the deceased needed to take one last tour of Luanda.

On arrival to the burial ground, the prophetess could not step on the mud since it is against their teachings. But she had no problem ordering the massive congregation to sit on the muddy grounds.

Mary’s aggression and no-nonsense temperament is visible as she is seen slapping those who fail to follow her protocol. After all she has her 24 hours security team at hand in case any follower entertains ideas of violence against her.
