Gor Mahia chairman, Ambrose Rachier has broken his silence over the fate of the club's sensational striker, Michael Olunga. In a move to shake off the heat and pressure from Olunga, Rachier sought to tell off persons claiming to have the rights to sell Olunga.
The Gor and Kenyan Premier League (KPL) chair revealed that he has received calls from a coach of a senior African Champions side (NAME WITHHELD) that so many people have approached the said team purporting to have Olunga's blessings.
"I would like to confirm that I have received numerous requests from different corners of the continent from people who I do not even know but at the same time, I can tell you for a fact that there are so many self proclaimed brokers out there trying to sell Olunga," said Rachier who does not want either the club of the player to be drawn into precipitate player transfer talks.
"These people claim to have been sent by Gor while others even assert that they are Olunga's. How many agents can one player have at a given time? As a result, many coaches and various club representatives have been asking me to disclose the official channel for negotiations," he added.
Rachier, one of Nairobi's most successful and experienced lawyers, disclosed to that in some instances, the unscrupulous wheeler-dealers have negotiated, placed price tags and even cut deals on the young Harambee Stars striker.

"Olunga, Oluoch and Aucho are currently darlings of almost every coach of an African club. Many people are calling me and Gor board members asking for talks but my message is simple: We have not opened talks with anyone and we have no interest in selling any of the players in the current squad," explained Rachier.
Touted as the next Dennis Oliech, Olunga's star shines bright in almost every match. Olunga has so far scored 12 goals in KPL and three goals in two matches that Gor has so far played in the ongoing Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Club Championships.
Most of the football agents who spoke to The Nairobian confessed that they have been following Olunga during K'Ogalo's live television matches.
"The young man seems to be getting better every match after the other. Today, he stands out as the most talked about local based footballer in the continent," said a renowned agent from South Africa.
Speaking on phone, the said agent was so disappointed with the manner in which Kenyan footballers handle transfer issues at a time when the country has immense talent.
SuperSport East Africa's General Manager Auka Gecheo reiterated the TV firm's unending interest in promoting local sports saying that as the KPL's official broadcasting partners, they will stop at nothing in showing live football matches.
"Television is a very critical aspect in the growth and marketing of sports. One of the key benefits of Tv coverage in sports is exposing talents, live match coverage only serve to open opportunities for greener pastures," said Auka.
Lovers of football have been enjoying live coverage of CECAFA Kagame Cup on a dedicated channel SuperSport 9 EAST. Local fans have the opportunity to watch Gor and still enjoying KPL matches.
"So far we are showing 28 out of the 32 CECAFA matches including all quarters, semi-final and the finals. We will also televise KPL as scheduled without any interuptions," Auka added.
