A 35-year-old may have sodomised his son and defiled his daughter after a fight with his wife, a city court heard.

Erastus Mutinda allegedly attacked his son at their Industrial Area home between January and September 11.

Police linked the suspect’s actions to endless quarrels with his wife, who apparently has been accusing the husband of infidelity for more than two years now.

It is alleged that Mutinda sodomised his son early this year while the child was doing his homework.

The court heard that the suspect allegedly called his son and ordered him to remove his trouser so that he could apply some petroleum jelly on his body, as the boy had just taken a bath. It is then that he reportedly grabbed the boy and sodomised him.

The court also heard that on unspecified dates, days after the first incident, Mutinda allegedly defiled their five-year-old daughter after a quarrel with his wife, who at the time had reportedly left the house to buy milk.

Mutinda denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bail.

His trial begins on January 13.
