A
30-year-old man collapsed and died in a bus from Nairobi heading to Mombasa during a stopover at Taleh Hotel in Kibwezi, Makueni County.
A police report indicated that the deceased, Fredrick Mbachu
Mwakima, is said to have started coughing, before he collapsed and died.
The incident was reported at the Mtito Andei police station
on Monday morning at about 2.00 am.
“About 2km North of the station from Nairobi towards Mombasa for a stopover, one passenger namely aged 30 years begun coughing and collapsed and passed on,” read the police report.

Public health officers are said to have arrived at the
scene, moved the body and fumigated the Chania Cool bus.
Mwakima’s cause of death is still unknown, with preliminary investigations
showing that he died from a heart attack.
