Harmonize, popularly known as Konde Boy is arguably having one of the most dramatic of years of his career. 2019 has been one of ups and downs. He literally began the year with a bang – continuing his 2018 form on fire. Diamond and Konde Boy were inseparable and whenever they were Wasafi Records’ flag bearers. The two Tanzanian heavyweights even released a chart topping ‘Kainama’ single with African giant Burna Boy.
However, months later and everything changed, dramatically. Harmonize parted ways with Diamond and Wasafi Records after what he said was management issues. Some rumors believe the two had a personal fall out – something neither have confirmed, nor entirely denied. He even had to sell a couple of his houses so as to raise the required Tsh. 500 Million (Ksh. 22 Million) to buy himself out of the record label’s contract.
Konde Boy was in Nairobi last weekend to release his new single Uno in which he mentions Diamond’s ex wife Zari Hassan. The gig was at Gossip Club and Harmonize ‘was not himself.’ He got to the venue at 1am but refused to leave the Rolls Royce he was in until the club’s management paid him in full. He did not want to talk about his fall out with Wasafi and whenever he did, he seemed bitter.
He went up on stage at around 3 am but left by 4 am, refusing to take pics any pics with fans. After the short set, he took his drinks and left, with his heavy security team dressed like CSI agents.
Harmonize might have left Wasafi but he is still making money moves and is now under his independent management.
