Naked body of beheaded 36-year-old pregnant woman found on bed

A woman six months pregnant has been found beheaded in her apartment on the Costa Blanca.

The decapitated body of Isabell Elena R?ducanu was found by her Spanish partner at 4.10pm yesterday afternoon.

Juan Vicente returned to the Xativa flat from his field work to discover his 36-year-old girlfriend lying naked in bed with a large knife wound to the side of her neck.

The 32-year-old confirmed that Miss R?ducanu had worked as a prostitute and was six months pregnant with his child at the time of her death.

The Romanian woman had an eight-year-old daughter, El Pais reported.

A day of mourning was declared in the mid-sized Spanish town by its mayor, who urged people to pay their respects by coming to the town hall at noon on Wednesday.

Valencia Police Headquarters' Homicide Group are investigating the incident but are yet to make any arrests.

The horrific killing comes days after a couple died in Valencia in a suspected murder suicide.

It is thought Beatriz Arroyo became the 999th victim of gender based violence in Spain since records began in 2003 when the 29-year-old's partner killed her.

The 48-year-old believed to be the attacker then jumped to his death from the fifth floor balcony of his house in the coastal resort of Port Saplaya.
