Prophetess Monica Nyambura, the sassy preacher who got married for a second time after abstaining from sex for 11 years, is pregnant.
Sharing the good news via Instagram, Nyambura announced that baby number two was on the way.
“Thank you God for the fruit of the womb… baby#2 loading. Today I realize how much my daughters love me. Thank you girls for the surprise. Am still lost of words,” posted the preacher.
Nyambura said “I do” to Samuel Gichuki Kariuki in 2018 at an exclusive wedding held along Kiambu Road. The couple later held their honeymoon in Dubai, UAE.
In an interview with the Nairobian that year, she disclosed that her first marriage did not work. They went their separate ways in 2007 when their first child was only one-year-old.
“I’ve been married before but things did not work out for us. I was naïve and accepted to be married because of family problems and the challenges of life,” she told the Nairobian.
She added that she chose to remain pure after her first marriage collapsed and vowed not to have sex until her wedding day.
“We are all humans and not holy. Though I have been tempted, I’ve never fallen and have never been involved with a man, besides the occasional date. I’ve been fasting a lot and avoiding certain foods,” said Nyambura.
The gorgeous preacher claimed that 10 men tried their luck before Kariuki swept her to the aisle.
“Those who have been trying to tune me were elderly. In 2016, more than 10 men tried their luck but to no avail because we were not connecting. But when Samuel said he wanted to marry me, I was shocked."
That was in 2017.
“He used to come to church and supported me, including fasting with me. In 2016, I prayed to God to give me a husband and my own church. My first prayer to get a man was answered when he approached me. Initially, I turned down his advances and prayed for three days.
“When I resurfaced and told him my answer was a big yes, he also vanished for one week to pray. It was not easy. He is young like me and has never been married. On the day he opened his heart to me, he was trembling and sweating,” added Nyambura.
They dated for six months.
“Six months was enough for us. He has paid bride price according to our tradition and we have been blessed in another ceremony. This will be a simple one, no best man or woman. It will not be a complicated affair,” she said, adding that, “I want to have two more kids but he proposes three that is why we are going for a 10-day honeymoon...to make babies!” she narrated.
