Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has given his opinion on how President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga can "drain the swamp" and create stability in Kenya at whatever cost.

Speaking on his weekly show the 5th estate, Ngunyi said the two leaders have what it takes to re-imagine Kenya.

"You have the opportunity to re-imagine Kenya and the tools to remake Kenya," said the political analyst.

He further explained how Kenya needs unreasonable change to give our politics some kind of sense.

“Our politics has a lot of stupidity and we need unreasonable change to give our politics some kind of sense” Mutahi Ngunyi added.

Mutahi went on to propose a joint dictatorship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga saying this will be the path to stability and advised them to pursue this idea shamelessly through the referendum.

His idea is to create political stability at whatever cost.

Mutahi Ngunyi explained how developed countries like South Korea, Japan, Russia and China only grew after applying a degree of dictatorship.

"What is the relationship between democracy and poverty. In 1963, South Korea was at par with Kenya, until they abandoned democracy and embraced a dictate. The more African countries attempt to be democratic, the more we bleed poverty and bloodshed.” He explained.

He concludes by saying only a parliamentary system like Ethiopia and South Africa’s will give us stability, Mutahi warns that any further experiments with our presidential system will result to nothing but conflicts every five years.
