Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed has sent a team to investigate an incident where a Form Two student was stabbed to death at Lugusi Boys High School in Kakamega.
Reports indicate that the deceased had an altercation with his schoolmate and was stabbed in the ensuing scuffle.
“The Ministry of education is saddened with what happened in Lugusi Boys.
“Following the unfortunate incident, the ministry has sent a team to the school to investigate the matter and establish circumstances under which the student lost his life,” said Amina.

The Ministry will also send a team of counsellors to the school to help KCSE candidates deal with the shocking news.
Amina further urged students to look for better ways of solving conflict and instructed authorities to create a conducive learning environment for students.
“Appropriate discipline of students provides a mechanism for dealing with conflicts, instead of disrupting desired environment for learning in Schools,” she stated.
The suspect is currently in police custody in Malava as investigations continue.
