Local leaders have called on Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to address teacher shortage in the area. Saboti MP Caleb Amisi said they have a deficit of more than 1,000 staff, which compromises on quality.
“TSC needs to urgently address the shortage of teachers in our schools to achieve quality education...,” said Amisi while addressing a TSC open day at Kitale National Polytechnic.
Women Rep Janet Nangabo echoed the same sentiments. TSC vice chairman Cleophas Tirop said they are aware of the situation.
“The commission has been carrying out periodic hiring and this is set to continue to ensure we achieve our set target,” said Tirop.
