Kenyans were once again treated to a show of who leaders really are after former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate and National Resistance Movement (NRM) self-appointed General Miguna Miguna engaged former Kakamega County Senator and deputy party leader of Ford Kenya Boni Khalwale in a war of words.

Miguna, who is known for his controversial remarks posted on his Twitter handle accusing Khalwale of being part of secret night meetings between Jubilee agents and National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition co-principals Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Democratic Movement. He stated that Khalwale is a certified coward and a hypocrite for speaking about secret meetings between the two divides.

You are a certified cowards and hypocrite. You are SUPPOSEDLY Ford Kenya's Deputy Leader. Ford Kenya is a member of @CoalitionNASAKe. Why are you exhibiting egregious INDISCIPLINE by speaking about "secret" night meetings that you are engaged in? We are NOT interested. Goodbye.— Dr. Miguna Miguna (@MigunaMiguna) January 24, 2018

Khalwale, popularly christened the bullfighter by his many followers had earlier said he had enough evidence that there were talks between NASA and the ruling party Jubilee.

Chief, if u can't by now figure out that clandestine talks are underway, then at least see the products of the talks! (KalonzoJr/Oburu to EALA & Jubilee by-election support 4 Nyenze's wife) Stop theatrics & bring th people's agenda on th national table of brotherhood & dialogue https://t.co/325PFopWn1

In an ensuing series of tweets, Miguna attacked Khalwale, questioning whether he had closed over to join Jubilee. Khalwale replied, saying that Miguna was on his case, just days after unleashing a Twitter attack on Kalonzo and Wetangula.

Just the other day, @KBonimtetezi ran to my house at 7am panting that the @PoliceKE had been chasing him the whole night. He was with us when @UKenyatta's Mungiki donning @PoliceKE uniform killed 18 innocent civilians. He has been yelling "swearing-in!" Has UGALI turned him dumb?— Dr. Miguna Miguna (@MigunaMiguna) January 21, 2018

Eat ugali at State House peacefully, @KBonimtetezi. But I can assure you that you will not be appointed a member of the illegitimate cabinet any time soon. Keep dreaming. As for "obscenities," I'm not sure you learnt how to DISTINGUISH them from integrity at medical school.— Dr. Miguna Miguna (@MigunaMiguna) January 25, 2018

Followers of both leaders who followed the conversation dove in and left their comments with many blaming Miguna for starting trouble with everyone. Majority asked Khalwale to ignore Miguna, claiming he was using too much energy to seek attention.

Here are some of the reactions that the Twitter war evoked;

These big/heavy worded wars are not helping at all. You are members of the same team. You ought to have united your energies to face your Jubilee opponent in this game! Why do you work so hard to score in your own goal? Relax, gentlemen!— Bryan Amollo (@BryanAmollo) January 26, 2018

But who appointed @MigunaMiguna the spokesperson of NASA? Speaking of HYPOCRITES and egregious character when the fellow used his close proximity to RAO to Spear him. Never allow a snake back to your camp to confirm the bite!— Its_wangila (@WangilaWaliaula) January 25, 2018

Extremism and rooftop heavy words is not what will drive the reforms agenda by NASA but by diginified resolve to the struggle process! Unity of Purpose and People-centered drivers must be engaged now than ever before! All our Principals deserve respect! — Peter Mathuki (@pmathuki) January 27, 2018
