MADNESS: Samburu man drinks poison to 'escape' from police after he killed his wife

A man being sought by the police for the murder of his wife committed suicide by drinking poison before hanging himself in Nontoto, Samburu Central sub-county.

Residents found the body hanging on a tree in a bush and reported the incident to the police.

Maralal Officer Commanding Police Division Abagarro Guyo confirmed the incident, saying the suspect had stabbed his wife to death on December 30, 2017 following a family quarrel and the police have been looking for him.

“He stabbed her to death and the went into hiding. We have been looking for him but yesterday (Tuesday) we received information that he had committed suicide,” said Guyo.

The body was taken to Samburu County Referral Hospital mortuary. The couple had a one-month-old baby.
