On Saturday 21 October, a chopper- 5Y-NMJ,
heading to Narok crashed into Lake Nakuru minutes after taking off.
The victims of the crash were identified as
Anthony Kipyegon, Sammy Gitau, John Mapozi, Apollo Maloa (pilot) and a lady
identified as Veronicah. Jubilee Senator Susan Kihika identified three of the
victims as members of his campaign team.
According to the hotel manager, four men including the pilot booked rooms and left but never came back till the next day.
“Four males came yesterday including the pilot and booked rooms in the hotel and immediately left to town using a private car. They never came back till this morning at 6am where they went to the chopper directly and flew,” said the hotel manager.
