Documents purportedly doing rounds on social media show that PNU Leader Peter Munya is set to return back to Jubilee once his party resolves back to the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“After thorough consultations with party
members, elders and supporters across the country, it has been agreed
that in
the very best interest of the country, we support the re-election of His
Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming presidential
election,” read part of the letter that was signed by Peter Munya
On 4 September 2017, Peter Munya had said that his party will support Raila Odinga in the forthcoming presidential repeat elections scheduled to take place on 17 October 2017.
Some Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) members had questioned why Munya had been added to the NASA coalition as a co-principal, arguing that there were other people more qualified for the position.

PNU was the ruling party during Mwai Kibaki's era and have been supporters of the incumbent government, though Munya had his issues- with DP Ruto.
Mr Munya had also revealed that he was going to file a petition to challenge the win of Governor Kiraitu Murungi. This is after the Supreme Court ruling on Friday 1 September where the Court proved that IEBC had conducted a fraudulent election.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has also confirmed that he has met with PNU Leader Peter Munya and other officials. He has also said that Peter Munya and his party will be supporting him during the repeat election.
