Raila Odinga, now the NASA flagbearer, is set to contest in August elections.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) is a coalition comprising 5 political parties, whose leaders are ODM’s Raila Odinga, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC‘s Musalia Mudavadi, Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula and Chama Cha Mashinani’s Isaac Ruto.
The five leaders did not dissolve their individual political parties but instead decided to merge and form one political party to battle the reigning government come August.
This means that Raila, being the presidential nominee, and also ODM leader, will have to use ODM’s Orange symbol during the elections.
According to the NASA agreement, Raila is the president with Kalonzo his deputy. Musalia Mudavadi is set to be Premier Cabinet secretary having two deputies, Isaac Ruto and Moses Wetang’ula.
