Meru, Kenya: A motorbike veered off the Njari bridge in Central Imenti instantly killing the four people on board.
According to Deputy Police Boss Tom Achiya, the riders were heading to Kaguma market at around 7pm on Monday when they crashed and were sent flying over the bridge still under construction.
“They landed on the rocks by the river and suffered fatal injuries because they were not wearing helmets or any other form of protective wear,” he said.
The bodies were taken to Meru Level 5 Hospital mortuary.
Mr Achiya expressed concern over the increased accidents involving boda bodas, and asked riders not to speed or ignore traffic rules.
