A man was charged in court with stealing video cameras from journalists. Silas Mwiti Nkonge was accused of stealing a Sony video camera, two batteries, one Canon digital battery, four unused tapes and one video camera bag from Joseph Kamau on August 10 in Gachie, Kiambu County. The items were valued at Sh300,000.
Mwiti was also charged with stealing three Sony video cameras, a tripod stand, floodlight, seven batteries and a charger, valued at Sh915,000, from Geoffrey Otieno on the same day in Nairobi.
The court also heard that he stole a camera tripod stand valued at Sh20,000 from Francis Owino.
He denied the charges before acting Chief Magistrate Daniel Ochenja. The case will be heard tomorrow.
