HOMA BAY, KENYA: Four fishermen were Wednesday alarmed after finding 20 bombs hidden close to their fishing nets in Lake Victoria.

The fishermen Erick Omondi 25, Tom Okoth 27, Peter Odhiambo 22 and Joshua Omollo 24, said the bombs were trapped by their fishing net.

The fishermen were on a fishing mission at Kiumba beach in Rusinga Island when they found the devices in their nets.

They reported the rare discovery at Mbita police station and the explosives were collected.

Homa Bay County police commander Gabriel Musau said the bombs were measuring 190 mm each.

He told fishermen to report such incidents to the police to avoid endangering their lives.
