However, the kind of necklace one chooses for their neckline really matters and plays a big role in elevating an outfit.

Strapless tops

When it comes to what necklace you should put on with a strapless top and off shoulders, this is the easiest tip to hack.

Always go for chokers and chunky necklaces that will cover the bare area around your neck. Chunky necklaces and collars make strapless outfits look fabulous and classier.

However, always remember to leave a little space between your top and the choker or necklace. This way it doesn’t make your neck look shorter.

Boat necklines

Boat neckline tops are closer to turtlenecks. Go for longer chains and necklaces. They will accentuate your top more and make you look classier. Since boat tops cover the cleavage area, longer necklaces will reduce focus on your neck area.

However, avoid chunky necklaces that will make your neckline look heavy and bulky. They will also downplay your outfit and make you look tacky.

If long necklaces are not your style, go for smaller strand necklaces that will make your neck delicate and classy.

Turtlenecks

This is another top that needs you to be very cautious when accessorizing with a necklace. When doing a turtleneck always go for longer necklaces that flow over the top. They will not distract the detail of the turtle neck around your neck area.

Avoid going for shorter necklaces that will be drowned by the turtleneck and end up looking funny. Also avoid collar and chunky necklaces that will make your neck look bulky and heavy when doing turtleneck tops.

Button-down shirts

These are one of the easiest outfits to handle because button-down shirts match perfectly with almost any necklace. When you want your outfit to look fabulous, always go for a chain that spreads under your shirts collar. It will make your outfit look classy and well planned.

Also, if you want a more subtle look, you can go for a small strand necklace that will peep from inside the shirt.

However, what you should avoid is a chunky necklace that will overlap over the collar. It won’t look neat at all.

V-necks
