Rising Esports sensation Eric "Demon" Ngige added another achievement to his career after finishing second place in the highly contested gamrX African Esports Championship held in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday
Demon suffered a slim 2-1 aggregate loss to Dexx Jr from Senegal in the final after 1-0 loss and a 1-1 draw in the two legged match.
The 24 year old took pride in his improved finish and promising even better,
"I am happy with my performance. Of course, I could have liked to win, but that is the nature ofcompetition. I congratulate Dexx Jr. I am also happy to have improved from my performance last year. It has given me all the reasons to believe I'm myself and keep working hard."
He had to contend with a tricky draw that placed a host of the host nations top gamers on his side of the draw.
In the last 32 he beat home favorite Adefola 3-1 on aggregate, losing 1-0 in the 1 st leg and coming back to win 3-0 in the 2 nd Leg.
He repeated the comeback trick on Mitch (Nigeria) in the last 16 where he recovered from a 1-0 first leg loss to win 1-0 in the 2 nd leg and force the tie to a tie breaker that he won 4-1.
In the quarter finals, he unleashed a clinical 5-2 aggregate win over Riomade (Nigeria) courtesy of 2-1 and 3-1 victories before easing past Boyd (Nigeria) 5-1 in the semis (2-1 and 3-0).
