Vihiga Queens coach Alex Alumira is focusing on their last league match against Oserian Ladies in the Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League Zone B.

Queens defeated Wadadia 6-2 in their previous match at Mumias Complex over the weekend.

Former Vihiga Leeds striker Terry Engesha was on fire as she scored five goals to boost her goal tally to eight from two rounds of matches following her hat-trick against Eldoret Falcons.

Kenya’s U-20 captain and Harambee Starlets midfielder Corazone Aquino scored her maiden goal to make sure the Vihiga-based side pick maximum points.

This was the second match for Aquino after joining the club mid season from Zone A side, Soccer Queens.

Ruth Chebungei and Merab Ochieng scored a goal each for Wadadia but could do little to salvage their sinking ship.

“We are now focusing on our last match of the season against Oserian Ladies in Naivasha on Sunday. It won’t be an easier affair considering that our opponents have not lost a match this season and they also defeated us in the first leg at home, the only match we have lost this season,” said Alumira.

Currently, Queens top the zone standings with 30 points, three better than Oserian Ladies ahead of their clash.

As it stands, Queens will finish top of the zone and qualify for the national playoffs for the second consecutive season and Oserian have slim chances of dethroning Queens because they must score 14 goals.

Oserian will second for yet another season.
