Following the demise of legendary goalkeeper, Mahmoud Mohammed on Monday night, Kenyans took to social media to condole the family and relatives of the late.

Numerous online publications had published that Mahmoud Abbas popularly known as ‘Kenya One’ passed on- sending their readers in total confusion.

Many got tangled between the late Mahmoud Mohammed and Mahmoud Abbas, the latter also happens to been one of the best goalkeepers back then.

Abbas, the former AFC Leopards custodian is alive and kicking.

Bobby Ogolla (Gor Mahia), was in the Kenya team with Mahmoud Abbas and they won the CECAFA cup three years running, 1981-1983.

The Kenya Football Hall of Fame inductee (2014) leads the likes of Binzi Mwakolo and Hussein Kheri of finest football legends that Mombasa County boasts of.

The late keeper, 68 succumbed to heart disease at his home in Tononoka. He has left behind five children and many grandchildren.
