Quarry worker wins Sh11m Elitebet prize

Elitebet Kenya yesterday unveiled the first ever sports betting jackpot winner from Coast region.

Khamis Charo from Kilifi County is the newest addition to the millionaires' club after winning the Sh10.9 million jackpot.

Accompanied by his younger brother Katana Charo, who introduced him to betting, Khamis was happy at the feat.

“First I’m grateful to have won because the money will benefit me and my family,” Charo said.

Close to two years is what it took Katana to convince his brother to join him in trying their luck.

“I have been betting for over two years but Khamis concentrated on his work."

The 24-year-old quarry worker was not keen on betting and only concentrated on his work in a Kilifi quarry.

Katana on the other hand has been betting for over two years with his highest win being only Sh270. Khamis's other win was eight shillings after placing a one-shilling bet.

“My father is a fisherman and mother does small-scale farming. I will invest in a business and also pay fees for my siblings."

Elitebet Marketing and Corporate Manager Edwin Tarus said Khamis would be given expert financial advice to ensure the money changes his life.
