Kenya's Olympic silver medallist Sally Kipyego is now an American citizen.
Sally Kipyego confirmed her newly acquired status on her Twitter account.
“It has been 12 years and 8 days since I first landed in America. Today I became a US citizen!” Kipyego wrote on her Twitter account.
However Kipyego who finished second at the 2016 New York City Marathon still remains a Kenyan citizen, thanks to Kenya's dual citizenship.
