Gor Mahia forward Michael Olunga has told off those discouraging him from moving abroad on the basis that it is too early.
The player has also rubbished those comparing him with players who have failed to make it in their first attempt to turn professional, insisting he is a different player and should be treated as such.
Olunga will this week travel to Sweden to start contract negotiations with top side Djurgarden IF.
“It is offending when some people purport to try and advise me on what they believe is the best career move for me.
Worse, they do this by trying to compare me with others who have gone and failed. What they should know is that people are different,” he said.

He added: “Opportunities come only once and you have to grab them and make good use of it. In my case, that time has come and I must take it with both hands.”
Olunga was recently voted the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) player of the year and with it have come several offers abroad.
However, as it happens every year, the top players always leave the KPL but unfortunately the success rate has not been encouraging hence the concern for Olunga.
The player has at the same time said he is going to Sweden not for trials but to open negotiations for a new deal.
Olunga is expected to travel to the Scandnavian country next week when he acquires his visa.
“This is not trials. I am going to negotiate with them and see whether what they are offering me is acceptable. If it is then I will sign the contract but if not then I’ll have to look elsewhere,” he revealed.
He said one of the things he will consider is whether he can be able to continue with his education while in Sweden.
“The plan is for me to be able to transfer my credits to a Swedish University and this has to be part of the deal.” The club last week announced they are expecting Olunga to join them. The player is only waiting for his visa before he can travel to Sweden. Elsewhere, Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttall said he is disappointed to be losing the towering forward.
“I have mixed feelings about his impending departure.
One, I am disappointed that he has to leave but at the same time this is a great opportunity for him and we can only be happy for him,” Nuttal said.
