Nokia users can now get live facebook and twitter feeds right on their home screens.
A new smartphone, Nokia C3, targeting the social networking generation officially unveiled in Nairobi on Tuesday comes with an assortment of colours and a near metallic finish.
With the gadget a user can access Internet over fast WI-FI and up to 10 personal email accounts including Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo mails.
Modelled after the shape of Nokia E71 and E72, the phone comes with an easy to access chat capabilities.
One can decide to chat via Google talk, OVI chat, Windows messenger and Yahoo messenger.
However on the home screen you can only connect to one facebook and one twitter account and if you need to navigate to another account, then you are prompted to log out the opened one.
All the same the instant access to the social sites on the home page, makes the gadget stand out.
For photo lovers, still N82 and most E series phones with higher pixel cameras beat the C3’s 2.0 mega pixel camera.
However if your aim is just to share fun moments instantly on Ovi, twitter or facebook then the low pixel photos can suffice.
Low pixel camera
Despite the low pixel camera, the qwerty keypad makes chatting and typing easy and full of fun as one sees everything clearly on the 2.4" landscape display.
According to a reviewer at GSM arena, Nokia C3 is young and social, simple and reliable and that "messaging and social networking are the very heart of this handset."
"The C series is aimed at people who want a budget handset and also want good communications features, hence the mini QWERTY keyboard that adorns the front and built-in Ovi Maps and Ovi Chatt," argues the Tech Radar.
If you have favourite numbers which you would want displayed on your home screen, then the C3 has fully catered for that.
The phone also comes with bluetooth functionality, an FM radio a music player, a voice recorder and an array of add-ons available on the ovi store.
The sleek look makes the Nokia C3 a must have for the trendy and social networking type.
