Police in West Pokot county have launched a search for three family members who are suspected to have hacked a 58-year-old man to death on Saturday night.
According to area county police commander Jackson Tumwet, the deceased identified as Simkou Simon is suspected to have been killed by his two sons and wife who fled away after committing the criminal act.
He said the deceased's body was found by his youngest son inside his house.
"It is suspected that the deceased was murdered by his family members who fled after the incident," he said.

According to Chebor location chief Atudonyang Chebon, the sad incident could be linked to family wrangles which started after the deceased married another wife.
He said the man was murdered at night and his body was abandoned in his bedroom.
"One of the suspects is a form four candidate. The family had perennial family wrangles, but they have been living together," he said.
He noted that the deceased was stabbed several times in the stomach.
"We are searching for the three whom we suspect they colluded to murder the old man," he added.
