Governor Joseph ole Lenku has named half of his cabinet and announced that his transformative agenda has begun.
Mr Lenku appointed Caroline Chege as head of Public Service, Administration and Citizen Participation. Alex Kilowua was named the Roads, Public Works, Housing and Energy executive.
Others are Michael Semera (Treasury), Esther Somoire (Health Services) and Joseph Sankale (Water, Irrigation and Environment).
Lenku appealed to Members of the County Assembly to speed up the vetting of his nominees so they could start working.
He accused his predecessor, David Nkedianye, of yielding to a directive by Opposition leader Raila Odinga to file a petition in the hope that he would get a favourable court ruling like Raila did in the Supreme Court.
