Other than being home to over 400 species of birds, Sawela Lodge situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha is impressive in its dÈcor. The fusion of both African and contemporary designs bring out an impressive visual effect.

The landscaping maximises on natural tropical plant species from euphorbia to acacia in a beautiful blend. The appreciation and extension of Lake Naivasha’s flora and fauna into the very core of Sawela’s architectural designs bring wilderness closer home.

The lodge’s rooms are huge and lavishly decorated in earth tones with the ceiling made from banana fibre.

Although it embraces modernity in its design, stints of African vibe are injected through the use of rustic hardwood on furniture and enforcement poles, African paintings and art, colours, stripes, printed material as well as use of fibres.

The furniture in the lounge, just like in the bedroom combines both African and modern themes. The outstanding feature of this area is the wall-size windows that enable guests to have access to not only natural light, but also the beautiful natural view as they have their meals and drinks or just lounge.

Unlike the rooms, which are decorated in earth tones, the lounge and the reception are a bit more daring with bright and bold colours ranging from bold red to bright yellow.

This gives a warm and exciting ambiance. The pool area is also a visual treat. It is shaped like the map of Africa and surrounded with sun beds that are a deep blue in colour effortlessly blending with the turquoise blue waters.
