Lamu Governor Fahim Twaha was validly elected, the Supreme Court has declared.
The Wednesday ruling followed a Court of Appeal decision to uphold Twaha’s victory.
Twaha’s election was challenged by former Governor Issah Timamy.
Justice Mohammed Ibrahim said there was no fault in the decision by the Appellate court.

The court said Timamy did not prove claims of impartiality, dismissing the petition.
Polls agency IEBC declared Twaha (Jubilee) winner with 22,969 votes.
Timamy garnered 22,848 votes in the 2017 race.
The Supreme Court also dismissed an appeal by Mohammed Mohamud, upholding the election of Changamwe MP Omar
Mwinyi.
