Maseno School redeemed their pride after losing in boys' basketball by winning the rugby title.
They hit St Joseph's of Rift Valley 24-5 as the National Secondary Schools Games ended at Kakamega High yesterday.
During the match, the marksmen for Maseno were Klayodi Victor, Quinter Odhiambo, Cabral Opiyo, George Osembo and Vett Akelo while those for the losers were David Hamari, Roney Machel, Sammy Mundi and Kevin Chesit.
In the semis, Maseno whipped St Peter from Western 14-5 as St Joseph’s hit St Mary’s from Nairobi.

The quarters, Maseno defeated St Mary’s Yala 10-5, St Peters hit Upper Hill 14-5, St Joseph’s walloped Alliance 10-5 and St Mary’s Nairobi thrashed Kangaru 12-5. St Mary’s’ Yala won the Plate Competition with a 21-0 drubbing of Kangaru.
They (St Mary’s) thrashed Upper Hill from Nairobi 19-14 in the semis while Kangaru defeated Alliance Boys 14-5.
The Bowl title went to hosts Kakamega High School with a good show of 35-5 win over Eastern’s St Mary’s. Kakamega routed neighbours Chavakali 13-12 while ST Mary’s thrashed Vihiga 10-5 in an exciting match.
