Egypt and Senegal qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing Africa Deaflympics Ball Games qualifiers at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi without kicking a ball.

Egypt's opponents Nigeria are still in quarantine after two of their players tested positive for the novel Covid-19 last week.

Ghana failed to show up for their encounter against the well-oiled Senegal.

Last week, the Ghanaians failed to honour their preliminary fixture against Libya citing fatigue and jetlag after arriving late for the qualifiers.

Senegal are poised to meet Cameroon in the first semifinal encounter at the venue today morning.

Egypt will meet Mali in the second semi slated for the afternoon.

On their way to the semis, Cameroon edged Gabon 2-1 in a tough quarter final played on Sunday.

On their part, Mali beat Libya 2-0 in another quarterfinal contest.

Meanwhile, Libya edged Gabon 3-2 to finish seventh overall in the tournament yesterday afternoon.

Ibrahim Adgagbe opened the scoresheet for Gabon with a converted midfield pass in the 40th minute.

Super-sub Ahmed Ajeeldi equalised for Libya in the 52nd minute. Libya were awarded a free-kick in the 60th minute, which was scored by Abdulbasit Salim to take Libya's tally to 2-1.

Darik Dikombou equalised ensured parity for Gabon 10 minutes later with a long shot screamer.

The deadlock ensued until the 77th minute when Ahmed again broke the Gabon defence to slot in a right flank shot that gave Libya the deserved 3-2 victory.
