A new robot referred to as Jia Jia has been unveiled in China. According to the Xinhuanet news website, the robot’s bears an uncanny resemblance to a human and it can show expressions, speak, move its lips and body.
Referred to as ‘robot goddess' by its team of developers at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Jia Jia is to be further developed in future allowing for it to cry, laugh.
A facial recognition feature will also be added to “make it interact more deeply with people”.

This comes as Japanese company Sharp developed RoBoHon, a 20cm tall smartphone. Shaped like a small robot, RoBoHon can talk, dance and read human emotion.
