NAIROBI: Agha Khan University, through its Graduate School of Media and Communication, has partnered with Deutch Welle (DW) to offer world class media training in the region.
According Michael Meyer, the dean of the school, there is still an unmet need in specialised reporting training.
"Most of those practising journalism in Kenya are general assignment reporters," said Meyer, adding that the training will target those interested in reporting on banking and finance, diplomacy and health and development.
He said through the partnership with DW, students would have a chance to interact with top journalists and media professionals from leading media organisations around the world.
The dean said lecturers would be drawn from leading publications and media organisations such as New York Times, Washington Post, BBC and CNN. Meyer said they would also work closely with the local media in the venture.
