The era of music player devices has been gradually phased out ever since the debut of smartphones. Due to the large storage space on today’s mobile handsets, many prefer storing and listening to music on their phones.
Sony now hopes to win back users who listen to music on their smartphones by introducing a revamped version of their iconic Walkman, NW-ZX2.
The high definition audio player, according to Sony, will be far better than smartphone when it comes to sound. The music player features 128GB on-board storage, a microSD slot, and a lovely-looking touchscreen display.
The device also runs on Android and is capable of connecting to the Internet, meaning that users can download and use apps from the Google Play Store. The player also has Bluetooth, which can be used for wireless streaming and NFC (near fields communication), which developers revealed can be used for one-touch connections to output devices such as speakers and headphones.
