One person died and scores injured seriously in a grisly road accident at Mamboleo black spot last evening.
Nyanza Regional Traffic Police Commandant Andrew Naibei said the driver of a bus lost control and crashed into an electric pole at the notorious spot near the Coptic Church.
The spot is considered deadly because of the ongoing construction of the Kisumu-Kakamega Highway.
Mr Charles Akatch, a resident, attributed the road carnage to the ongoing construction and blamed contractors for placing objects on the road, which he claims distract drivers.
