Nairobi, Kenya: A man accused of assaulting a police officer has been charged at a Nairobi Chief Magistrates Court. Dennis Githongo Burugu appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku and denied the charges.
He was charged with assaulting a police officer who was in execution of duties contrary to the law. The court heard that the accused committed the offense on August 8, 2016 at around 7pm at central Police Station Office Number 4 in Nairobi County.
Burugu is said to have had assaulted Cecila Muthoni who was in due execution of her police duties. He was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000. The case will be mentioned on August 29.
At the same court a man was charged with making a document without lawful Authority on January 27, 2016.

Fidel Otieno was accused of forging a certificate of registration with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) dated January 27, 2016.
He is said to have purported it to be a genuine document from KMLTTB. He was released on Sh100,000 cash bail. The case will be heard on September 16.
