President Uhuru Kenyatta last evening toured the Old Town and public beach to inspect a street lighting project in Mombasa County.
The President expressed satisfaction that the project is steering the county towards a 24-hour economy that will improve the welfare of citizens.
The project has facilitated the extension of working hours for businesses and enabled people to spend more hours at the beach, boosting Mombasa’s status as a preferred tourist destination.
During the tour, the Head of State interacted with the public.
President Kenyatta was with Kenya Power and Lighting Company Managing Director Ben Chumo, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir and several leaders.
