Naivasha, Kenya: A fishing expedition by four KCPE candidates ended on a sour note after two of them drowned in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
The two boys, aged 14 and 15, were fishing in a dam in Karangatha village, Njabini location when the incident occurred.
The body of one of the minors was retrieved soon after the incident while the second one was recovered on Monday evening and moved to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
A sad mood engulfed the area as relatives, classmates and area residents tried to come to terms with the incident.
According to a witness, Samuel Njoroge, the four boys ventured into the dam for fishing when the tragedy occurred.

Njoroge said one of the boys slipped and fell into the dam, whose water level has risen sharply due to the ongoing rains.
"His colleague dived in to rescue him but he too drowned with the other boys rushing to seek assistance from members of the public," he said.
