A man’s mission to arbitrate in a domestic dispute turned tragic when he stabbed to death a quarrelsome husband.
The assailant, identified as James Nderi, is alleged to have killed William Litunya, 23, by stabbing him in the chest on Sunday night at Uthiru in Nairobi.
According to Litunya’s wife, Lucy Njeri, she had sought help from the neighbour following a family dispute with her husband over a mattress.
Njeri said she had differed with the deceased and attempted to carry her belongings, including the mattress, which she had bought.
But this prompted a bitter confrontation with her husband, forcing her to storm out of their house to seek help from Nderi.

Dagoretti OCPD Rashid Mohamed said Nderi arrived at the house and picked up a quarrel with the man before he went for a kitchen knife that he used to attack him.
“He escaped but we have arrested the woman to help us in locating where he is. He is a wanted suspect over other criminal activities,” said Mohamed.
Police arrived at the scene and took the body to City mortuary.
