Seventeen patients have recovered from the coronavirus, all being discharged from the Home Based Isolation and Care program, the Health Ministry has said.

The country’s total recoveries are now 317,658.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, in a statement Friday said some thirteen patients have also tested positive for the disease from 4,451 samples conducted in the last 24 hours.

Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate is now 0.3 per cent with 323,436 total confirmed cases and 3,520,326 cumulative tests conducted so far.

The death toll remains 5,648.

“Further, twelve patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while one hundred and eighteen are under the Home Based Isolation and Care program,” Kagwe said.

No patient is in the ICU.

As at Friday, April 1, Kenya has administered at least 17.6 million vaccines across the country, and some 18,021 vaccines in the last 24 hours.

Only 29.8 per cent of the adult population is fully vaccinated.
