Tanzanian celebrities and influencers are rallying behind President Samia Suluhu Hassan's re-election bid and popular Kenyan content creator Cassypool is the latest to join the wave of support.

Known for his dynamic online presence while mingling with top celebrities and politicians alike, Cassypool has launched a campaign dubbed "Marafiki Wa Mama Samia Suluhu in Kenya" to champion her candidacy under the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

In a media address, Cassypool highlighted President Suluhu's achievements, emphasising her impact on education, energy, infrastructure, water communication, and the economy.

"As friends, we are supporting her because of the development she has brought. She is a hard worker and is loved across East Africa," he stated.

He later took to Instagram to praise her leadership, writing, "Congratulations, HE. President Dr. Mama SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN, on the successful implementation of your visionary projects. Your leadership continues to inspire many."

The endorsement comes as CCM marks 48 years since its founding, with top artists like Diamond Platnumz, Ali Kiba, and Harmonize performing at party events.

This showbiz backing underscores President Suluhu's growing influence as she seeks to solidify her position in Tanzanian politics.

She assumed office in 2021 following the passing of President John Magufuli, who served from 2015 until his death.

Magufuli, a former Minister of Works, Transport, and Communications, left a significant legacy, and Suluhu has worked to build on his foundation while carving out her own path.

With celebrities like Cassypool amplifying her campaign, her re-election bid is gaining momentum, signalling a united front of support from some of East Africa's bigwigs in the entertainment and political spheres.
