Content creator Mungai Eve has opened up about the challenges she faced while building her Airbnb business.

In a recent interview, Mungai revealed that she is still in the process of insuring her property, admitting that she had previously overlooked this important step.

"I have learnt a lot. Although I haven't insured the house yet, it's something I'm actively considering. I realise I've been a bit careless about it, but I'm more cautious now after learning the hard way," she shared.

Her concerns stem from an incident on November 10, 2023, when one of her Airbnb apartments was robbed.

The content creator shared video footage showing the burglars, a man and a woman, leaving the property with large suitcases. She later clarified that the robbery did not occur at her primary residence, as some people had assumed.

"Many people thought we were robbed at the place where we live, but that wasn't the case. The robbery happened in one of the apartments we operate as an Airbnb," Mungai explained.

The burglars had posed as clients looking for a one-night stay, claiming they needed a place to stay before catching a flight the next day.

"An agent I work with called to inform me about a client who needed the apartment for just one night. Normally, I don't accept one-night bookings, but since I trusted the agent and knew the cleaners would be coming the next day, I agreed. That night, they arrived with their suitcases and left with them packed," she recounted.

Despite this setback, Mungai remains positive about her Airbnb business.

"I have nothing to complain about. It's been a wonderful business. Most of my clients are from abroad, and many stay for extended periods. I've had clients stay for six months or even a year," she added.

Mungai's remarks come days after TikToker Nyako expressed surprise after discovering that the apartment she had moved into belonged to Mungai Eve.

In a live video, Nyako revealed that she had no idea the house was owned by the YouTuber.

"I was told this house belongs to a TikToker or YouTuber, but no one mentioned who exactly. Even the watchman refused to tell me. Now I've heard the owner is Mungai Eve, the YouTuber. And we don't even like each other. Now I'm living in her house," Nyako said.

Despite her initial shock, Nyako suggested that she and Eve might need to make peace now that she was staying in the apartment.

"So, this house is Mungai Eve's... How many houses does she have? I guess we'll have to be friends, though I've never really liked her," Nyako added, somewhat reluctantly.

Nyako also pointed out a few areas where the apartment could be improved, mentioning that the master bedroom shower was broken and suggesting that Eve should consider buying a new fridge to make the place even better.

"If this is Eve's apartment, then it's very well kept. The only thing I'd ask her to fix is the master bedroom shower, which is broken. And maybe get a new fridge; then this place would be perfect," Nyako said.
