There was grief and gloom at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi Thursday evening as the body of Kevin Oliech, a younger sibling to former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech, arrived from Berlin, Germany.

Kevin, 33, died while undergoing treatment for a cancerous malignant.

The plane ferrying the body landed at the airport at 7pm after a sojourn in France ahead of his burial in Maseno, Seme village on Saturday, September 5.

The hearse was then ferried to Umash Funeral Home where close friends including Governor Mike Sonko, who had earlier in the day condoled the deceased’s kin at their Kilimani home, honoured the former Mathare United and Thika United player.

According to Oliech’s family, the body will be prepared for viewing and flown to Kisumu on Friday, September 4.
