On his part, Fred Afune, Group ICT and Radio Director, mourned Njuguna as talented journalist whose skill touched many lives.
"On behalf of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the management of Royal Media Services I convey my condolences to the family of Mohammed Juma Njuguna.
"A talented and veteran broadcast journalist with unmatched radio football commentary, we have lost an icon, a mentor and a father figure. Mohammed has been a pillar of Radio Citizen and Royal Media for the past 20 years. He is among the founding employees of RMS. I am quite saddened and will personally miss his wise counsel and wit. Thanks for the beautiful memories and rest in peace Moha. We shall miss you.
"Njuguna played a key role in the growth of Radio Citizen and at the time of his demise, his age notwithstanding, he still made his presence felt through the daily segment Taaraifa za Wandishi.
"Besides his commitment, reliability and dedication to work, he will be remembered as among the first indigenous football commentators starting way back at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
"With profound sadness and on behalf of RMS Family I pass my condolences to his family, friends and fans. His powerful, strong and commanding voice will surely be missed on the airwaves at home and abroad,” read the message from Afune.
